How do you use your magic?

I am a Magician and I have a wand and everything but how do you use your magic? I really don't get the skill section either. Another question is how do you get the book 'An introduction to magic' in your inventery. I really don't understand. I'm confused. Can someone just help me out here?

You just grab your skill and move it to a keyboard key. You can do this with potions too.

Introduction to Magic doesn't mean anything. You don't have to worry about that. As long as you advance to magician at level 8, make the 2nd job advance at level 30, and 3rd job at level 70, you're fine.

From your question, it seems you are very new to MS. I suggest looking at some beginner guides to familiarize yourself.
