well i just drawed a quick dash board, interface, in paint...
basically i just did the buttons and stuff...
the character and monster was just for fun XD
well here it is.. and ima explain all buttons and stuff...
http://i75.servimg.com/u/f75/13/15/44/67/dashbo10.jpg
ok.. now ima explain everything.
MENU = the menu.. well kinda.. System Options to control sounds, and quit game and stuffs like that
KEY CONFIG = here u can set ur keys... party, buddy, skill etc...
Cash Shop = i dunno if u want that flowsion.. just added in case....
NOTES = as flowsion said : (small edited)
The Note button will allow users to write stuff to remember like IGN’s, NPC’s and even simple guides, so they do not have to minimize if in full-screen. You’ll be able to draw out ‘maps’ or plans for boss battles and send it to the other users via IGN Sending. This will allow users to carefully plan out boss battles and more!
skill rings = drag ur skills and pots and thing like that into them. and press the number that is above the rings (example if the number is a 4, i click the "4" button on my keyboard... ) to use the skill/pot...
The blue 2 left of the skill rings = click on it and "Skill 1" to Skill 6" will turn into "Skill 7" to "Skill 12" of course the number 1 will be used for "Skill 7" ring.( i dont think u have 12 numbers eyy?? )
Exp Progress = See how much exp u have left to gain another level... i dont think i need to explain this any further...
Character name, Job, Level = ... yea... Char name, Job, and ur level of course o.o
Chat = here u chat.. click on the arrow at "TO" to select if u want to talk to all or just in party or maby with ur guild.
Well.. And the rest i think u should be figuring out ur self...
Feel free to comment =]

I think this is a good thread to post this in lol, i dont think its necessary to make a new thread about another interface post :O
heres what i came up with,. i was thiking of a fast drawing put i conjured this instead `o` lol
seems pretty similar to maplestory, only flaw with it i think is that If you're not a person who doesn't put pots on the "insert-page down' part of the keyboard. You won't really see if you're low on stock or not :S...
i guess that can be shown somehow else.

The second one allows you to see more of the map, opposed to having half the screen being donated to the dashboard. As for Ins/Home/Del/End/PgUp/PgDn, allow them to pick 6 keys from the KeyConfiguration, with those being the defaults? And an Exp bar under HP/MP? (It may be easier to notice/you'd be able to display current/total exp and %) The idea of a solid background for text might be a nice idea too, if it could be turned on/off under the menu button. There's no Level either (In the second one). The memo/notes button would include the user-requested addons, like a clock/email&updates/notes/monster&item counter, etc?

Yup just like in Maplestory i guess.
There's no Level either (In the second one).
oops i forgot i guess it would go under the MP bar "Level ## then after would state the class"
The memo/notes button would include the user-requested addons, like a clock/email&updates/notes/monster&item counter, etc?
hmm forgot about everything but the memo lol but yah i guess the button should be replaced with like "Tools"
idk but I think i like the exp bar at the bottom :X of course it would state how much EXP you need to level (#/Till next level) and and %.
hmm just an idea lol wondering if it would be good for everyone else, unless they already have designed an interface.

Lol heya Zcikkita! On topic, I think that I like the HP, MP, and EXP bar bunched up in a corner somewhere.

Yup just like in Maplestory i guess.
I was actually suggesting that the keys displayed could be changed, not only what each key did. (IE: It shows Ins/Del/Hm/End, etc, but you can change it to show 1/2/3/4/5/6, or Q/W/E/A/S/D, etc)
idk but I think i like the exp bar at the bottom :X of course it would state how much EXP you need to level (#/Till next level) and and %.
Never gotten used to having it at the bottom =P I guess it's really just personal opinion, I grew used to having it maple-style. When it's down below, I have trouble 'noticing' it (Which could be a good thing, haha)
hmm just an idea lol wondering if it would be good for everyone else, unless they already have designed an interface.
I like it ^^ There hasnt been much talk on how it was going to look, so I'm not sure if they already had something in mind or it just never came up.
Bold-Stuffs.

The user interface will be widget-based (http://flowsion.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9291) where every player can customize where they place their gadgets, stats and whatnot on the screen in any arrangement they like on the screen.

But there needs to be both a default display as well as the minimal amount that can be removed. (Even if you can move around, add, or remove widgets, you cant delete the menu button, and it would be unwise to allow players to remove the chat, hp, mp, and buffs display.)
When you give someone too much customization, it becomes a burden on them as nothing will fit without overlapping or being 'out of place'. Some is fine, such as being able to display/hide time, exp, the map, etc, however the ideal is to have several templates for the user to choose from (One may be free-style customization, but they should be supplied with alternatives). Personally, I like the bare bones style, with hp/mp/exp/menu/notes being the only options, and having 'notes' open a window that gives more details (Time, news, etc) than having it all shown at once and overloading the user with information, cluttering the screen (Details can be good, but being able to quickly turn them on/off is ideal) If they have to edit their screen every time they wish to see the time, it may get bothersome.

The Int, Del, Home, Pg Up,... is really useless (Like in Maple).
Why? Because it's the same like having whole your keyboard displayed on your screen.
They display keys you already know of, and just take screen space.
And I do think you should be able to remove HP, MP, Buffs, etc... Some (veteran?) players just like it better when they can focus on nothing but there target. Maybe a bit dumb to remove your HP, but maybe just being able to remove Exp bar and chat.
Or better, use a minimal of display (Hp, Mp and EXP), and by pressing TAB (Toggle or Hold, opotional again), you can see the rest of your HUD, and chat , and widgets like Notes and Guild tablets become availble. I'll try to illustrate it, expect an Edit soon.

____Update_____

When playing regularly, this is the view you get. With a minimal of HUD, you only see your HP, MP and Exp, in a small and handy bar.
However, when pressing a designated button (Default TAB key), a number of widgets gets available, and your view and HUD will be expanded, to give you info about several things.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c357/ThorgalW/Flowsion02.jpg
(When pressing TAB ^)
You won't have useless buttons like 'Exit game' and 'Cash shop' flying around your screen either, as nearly everything (such as screen customization) can be accessed throught he menu (Top).
Crap didn't add map :/ ... Oh well, it's customizable, so you can add/remove widgets and stuff you don't like. For instance, if you want to get rid of the expandable group bars do as you like and use a hotkey. It's just a matter of playstyle and getting things to your likes.

The keys are more used to see how many potions you have left or to quickly change what an important button does while in a fight (And where it might be dangerous to do it the normal way) Well, I liked it in maple because it helped me plan better and I knew if I had enough pots to jump into the fight or to back away.

Again, it's all about your style and comfort. It's great that we can optimize everything we like (with limits ofcourse), so Xlythe, you and I will both be satisfied (If what they are saying is true)
And you can also quickly toggle, so you can see your Pots, Skills and Chat in a flash, it's not like you have to go stand still or something :)

I like the idea of switching 'views' by pressing tab, the only thing I would add is a way to download 'templates', (IE: Replace view2 in your folder with a friend's view2 to use his 'advanced' setup) This way people can create their own templates or go on the forums and download someone else's (Someone else may have a clock in the bottom right, minimap in top right, health/mp/exp on the bottom, etc and you'll be able to download and use that as well) It may seem a bit extreme, but I think it'd be a great way to get the community involved as well as helping people find that style they're used to, instead of fiddling with everything. Perhaps even let them create their own addons, such as themes (Think borders around boxes, colours of windows, etc), calculators (Damage), or other simple programmable addons. It should all be view-only, though. (IE: It can show numbers like hp/mp/defense, but it cant edit them. Kinda obvious, but eh)

Too lazy right now to do the details but this is a rough idea.
The screenwide bar above level/job/hotkeys/etc is the exp bar btw.

My turn. :D
Lots to read on it, so it looks messy.
Maybe I'll make one without my comments on it in a sec.

The best interface that I've seen so far in a MMO is actually Trickster's. Even though they need a way to have more hotkeys for skills, their interface is clean and quite manipulative.

Lastday to be honest, that's just way to many crap on your screen (for me it is), same for Cesar, that menubalk down at the bottom is rather big, like in maple.

i think it should be a Free Key Press skill config as in you can set it as a hot key and you dont ned to just press 1-0 or so but skill config like maplestory would be nice ^^ but nice ideas (better then mine xD) ^^

He is right about the free key, you should be able to set your skills anywhere, including the numpad, the 'Enter' button, and etc etc... I hate it when I have to chat through 'Enter' instead of 'y' or 't'.
And don't go bitching about " Laptop users don't have a numpad :'( "
